Overview
Valheim is a Viking survival co-op game. You build a base, gather resources, craft better gear and work your way through the bosses with a group. It plays best with a few mates, and that is what our community server is for.
The GG-AU community runs its own Valheim server. Live status and player counts are on the Servers page.
Server Address
Connect address: game.shadowtor.xyz:2456
In Valheim, choose Join Game, then Join by IP, and enter the address above. If the server has a password, members with access can see it on the Servers page when signed in.
The Servers page also shows whether the server is online and how many players are on it right now.
The Modpack
We play with a community modpack called GG_AU_Valheim_Modpack, published on Thunderstore: https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/GGAU/GG_AU_Valheim_Modpack/
The easiest way to install it is through a mod manager such as r2modman or the Thunderstore app. Create a Valheim profile, search for GG_AU_Valheim_Modpack, install it with its dependencies, and launch the game from the manager.
The mods on your computer need to match the server's mods and versions. If you cannot connect, the first thing to check is that your modpack is on the latest version. Updating it in your mod manager usually fixes it.
Getting Started
1. Install the modpack with your mod manager.
2. Launch Valheim from the mod manager and join using the server address above.
3. Say hello in #valheim on the GG-AU Discord. That is where the crew organises sessions and sorts out connection problems.
If you get stuck, ask in #valheim and someone will help.
Can't Connect?
Check that the address and port are typed exactly as shown, including the :2456 on the end.
Check that the modpack and every mod in it are on the latest version. A single mismatched mod will stop you joining.
Check that you launched the game from your mod manager, not straight from Steam. Mods only load when started through the manager.
If the server needs a password and you cannot see it, sign in on the Servers page. Members with access see it there.
Still stuck? Post your error message in #valheim on Discord.
