GUIDELINES.

The rules that actually run the GG-AU Discord, the game servers and this website, not just the five from the Apply page. Read this one if you want to know what actually gets enforced.

18+ only

This server is 18+ only. By joining, you're confirming you meet that requirement.

The house rules

These are the five rules from our Apply page, plus the rest of what keeps GG-AU worth being part of. They apply in Discord voice, in matches and on this website.

  1. 01 Play fair. No cheats, no exploits, no rule-lawyering.
  2. 02 Keep it friendly. Banter's fine, being a problem isn't.
  3. 03 Use comms. Callouts win rounds; silence loses them.
  4. 04 Show up when you say you will. Scrims depend on it.
  5. 05 Sort issues in Discord, not mid-match in chat.
  6. 06 One account per person. Don't make an alt to dodge a ban or duck a vote.
  7. 07 Advertise your own server, clan or socials only with a staff member's okay first.
  8. 08 Respect the probation vote. It's the community deciding you're a good fit, not a formality.
  9. 09 If you're staff, use the extra trust responsibly. It comes with more expectations, not fewer rules.

Respect and conduct

Treat all members with respect. No harassment, bullying, intimidation or toxicity.

Friendly banter is welcome, personal attacks are not.

No threats or encouragement of harm, even as a joke.

Absolutely no hate speech or discrimination, including racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia, xenophobia, or religious discrimination.

Prohibited content

None of the following is allowed anywhere on the server:

  1. 01 Pornographic content.
  2. 02 Excessively violent, bloody or disturbing content.
  3. 03 Hate symbols.
  4. 04 Heated, provocative or disruptive political and religious argument.
  5. 05 Web3, NFT, crypto and gambling content. For-fun in-game mechanics that involve no real money or assets are fine.
  6. 06 Hacks, cheats, exploits and unauthorised game mods.
  7. 07 Anything illegal.

Privacy and safety

No doxxing or sharing personal information, yours or anyone else's. That includes addresses, phone numbers and private accounts.

Don't share your own details with people you don't know personally.

Do not open links sent in DMs unless you fully trust the sender.

No swatting or threats involving real-world harm.

Spam and advertising

Keep the channels usable for everyone:

  1. 01 No spam of any kind: messages, emojis, images, links, memes.
  2. 02 No ghost-pinging.
  3. 03 No unsolicited advertising or self-promotion. Content creators are limited to the designated channels.
  4. 04 No selling, referral links, or directing people to other servers.
  5. 05 No advertising game services, currency, accounts or sellers.
  6. 06 Exceptions need staff approval first.

Channels and comms

Use channels for their intended purpose. Music, videos and creative projects belong in their own channels, not in #general. Check the channel description or ask if you're unsure.

English is the primary language, so conversations stay accessible to everyone.

Don't derail conversations on purpose.

Voice channels

No mic spam, loud noises or disruptive behaviour.

Use push-to-talk or mute if you've got background noise.

No excessive soundboard or voice-changer use unless everyone in the channel is fine with it.

No interrupting, channel hopping or harassing people in voice.

During active gameplay or coordination, keep comms relevant. If someone calls for clear comms, respect it.

Staff and tickets

Reports and complaints go through the ticket system, not to staff directly.

Every report is handled confidentially.

Harassing staff earns moderation action of its own.

Profile and identity

Usernames, nicknames, avatars, statuses and bios must be appropriate and non-inflammatory.

Impersonating staff or another member is strictly prohibited.

No evading a ban, mute or timeout. Every account associated with the evasion gets permanently banned and reported to Discord. Appeals go through the proper process where one is offered.

Website conduct

Your clan application should be honest. We'd rather reject an application than induct someone who lied to get in.

Game suggestions on the Games Hub are for games you actually want us to add, not a joke submission or spam.

Keep your account and profile content, like your avatar and display info, appropriate. This includes anything visible on the roster.

Zero tolerance

These offences mean immediate removal, and may be reported to Discord:

  1. 01 Hate speech or extremism.
  2. 02 Serious threats or violence.
  3. 03 Sexual or explicit content involving minors.
  4. 04 Doxxing or swatting.
  5. 05 Terrorism-related content.
  6. 06 Other serious illegal activity.

When a rule is broken

We generally follow a three-strike guideline, but steps can get skipped for serious offences, and repeated behaviour escalates faster. Staff hold final discretion on every moderation decision.

Typical escalation, depending on what happened:

  1. 01 Spam: warning, then mute, then kick or ban.
  2. 02 Mic spam and soundboard abuse: warning, then mute, then kick or ban.
  3. 03 Harassment and personal attacks: warning plus timeout, then kick or ban.
  4. 04 Pornographic content and asking for it: content removal plus warning, then timeout, then kick or ban.
  5. 05 Advertising without approval: content removal plus warning, then kick or ban.
  6. 06 Hate speech, doxxing and threats: straight to a ban.

How this fits with our Terms

This page covers behavior, our Terms page covers the legal basics like account terms and liability. Read both if you want the full picture, but this is the one that actually gets enforced day to day.
